The purpose of 9-1-1 addressing is to provide the location of a structure, site or road for timely and efficient response in emergencies. Having a consistent, uniform addressing process is critical for emergency response.

The core functions of the 911 Center is as followed:

Assist all citizens and visitors by answering emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching, and maintaining records. Provide medical pre-arrival instructions to assist callers in giving help to the sick and injured before medical personnel arrive.
