Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

· One (1) to three (3) years of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, administrative support, or related work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment including computers, printers, copiers, telephones, calculators, and other standard office equipment. Work is generally performed in an office environment and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting office materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. The employee must exercise discretion and confidentiality while handling sensitive financial and personnel information. Duties and Responsibilities:

● Provide computer assistance in the field, program, test, and maintain voting equipment.

● Supervise others in the packaging, unpacking and storing of election equipment for use at voting sites.

● Pack, unpack, and store election equipment after elections.

● Supervise poll workers and poll clerks in the preparation and acceptance testing of voting equipment.

● Respond to general requests for information from the public, county employees, political parties, and elected officials in a friendly and professional manner.

● Supervise ballot by mail, campaign finance filings, public information, voter education, site coordination, and personnel recruitment.

● Oversee workers, providing help and troubleshooting assistance for poll workers and poll clerks in the field.

● Provide extensive hands-on training during Clarendon County administered training classes for early voting and election day programs.

● Create and implement schedules for the operation of computer support personnel who assist in poll worker and poll clerk training.

● Coordinate, delegate, and supervise tasks associated with the preparation for and

conduct of elections in Clarendon County.

● Receive, review and process voter registration forms; ensure voters are placed in proper voting precincts and districts.

● Enter voter information into the voter database; update data as required.

● Prepare and distribute voter registration cards, to include changes, duplicates, corrections, and new registrations.

● Assist with the absentee process and procedures to include telephone requests, walk-in absentee voting, assisting voters, issuing of ballots, recording and filing of paperwork, etc.

● Maintain system files and records from SEC, other counties, and states to include deceased individuals, convictions, registered twice, moved out of state and duplicate voters.

● Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Possess associate degree and one (1) year of increasingly responsible elections program or project management experience.

Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the required knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications or Special Requirements

Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

911 Dispatcher

Pay Range: $32,681 - $36,023

Summary Objective

The primary duties will include, answering and dispatching 911 emergency calls for Clarendon County Sheriff’s Dept., Fire Dept. EMS, and local towns. Requires working on rotating shifts including evenings and weekends. Must be able to work under stressful situations and have the ability to work well with the public, state, and local law enforcement personnel.

Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to perform specialized public contact work in receiving and transmitting messages for the County’s emergency services and other duties associated with the E911 Communication Center. 

This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Essential Functions

The essential functions listed below are those that represent most of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Receives, interprets, classifies, prioritizes, and responds to calls of a routine and emergency by E-911 system, telephone or radio for Fire Department, E.M.S., Law Enforcement and other entities as required, expeditiously and accurately.
  • Determines by inquiry the exact location of place or point of emergency and dispatches the proper personnel; transmits such messages necessary in conducting operations.
  • Tracks status and availability of emergency service units.
  • Keeps necessary records regarding calls and complaints, communications, and/or E-911 operations.
  • Compiles data from records kept into various daily, monthly, or other periodic reports.
  • Maintains communications records and files.
  • Assists the public with transactions and information relating to police and fire activity and county services.
  • Dispatches medical emergencies and provides pre-arrival instructions.
  • Provides information to units in areas such as warrants, vehicles, driver’s licenses and criminal history.
