Walt Ackerman serves as Clarendon County Administrator, bringing more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing management and local government. A Georgetown County native and graduate of Andrews High School, Ackerman holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has served in leadership roles in finance, administration and human resources with the City of Georgetown and Williamsburg and Georgetown counties. His work has included oversight of major capital projects and long-range planning initiatives. Ackerman and his wife, Lisa, have one son, Andrew.
Deputy Administrator
Sharmane Y. Anderson, J.D. sanderson@clarendoncountygov.org
Holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Francis Marion University, Masters of Science, Youth Development Leadership, Clemson University and a Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law. Ms. Anderson is a lifelong resident and employee of Clarendon County since 2021 as the Director of Voter Registrations and now as Deputy Administrator. Prior to this, she was employed as an administrative hearing officer and law clerk in private entities.
